Question by jeffyp1000: any suggestions on my uneducated little “workout” routine?
3-6 days a week at about 3am before i go to bed (strange work hours) i do a little active routine to stay in shape. i’m 19
1. 15 reps with a 20lb. dumbell with each arm
2. 20 reps pushing towards the ceiling with each arm with the same dumbells
3. i do pushups until i can’t do anymore (usually 5-7 i have a week upper body)
4. i do what i think are called squat thrusts (i simply crouch and stand up straight again keeping my back straight) 25 times
5. i then do 50 sit ups
i really have no idea if this is a good routine at all i’m just going on my common sense
does anyone have any suggestions at all about what to do differently or what not to do? also any common mistakes people do with any of the exercises like an easy-way-out or anything please let me know. again i really don’t know what i’m doing just messing around
i’ve been doing this for about 2 months, thanks for reading all of that

You are not doing any aerobics and your reps are not designed for a particular purpose. If you want some good workout routines go to;

You can get what you need on line from his website but his book is EXCELLENT. My friend and I used it to get in shape for SWAT.
What do you think? Answer below!
Actually, I think it’s great that you can do all that. Eventually you will build your strength and be able to do more. The only thing is, drs say you should exercise in the morning, not before you go to bed. I revs your metabolism. Truthfully, if it is working for you, and you sleep well, I’d keep doing it. If you find it hard to fall asleep then you may want to switch. Any exercise you do to keep in shape is good for you, as long as you don’t go under weight. Keep up the good work.
u should split the excercises into 3 seperate routines, Back + Biceps, Chest + Triceps, Legs + Shoulders.
Excerecise for the same period of time still. This will give each muscle group a more intense workout and a better rest inbetween for accelerated results.

Hi there
Your workout sounds okay, you just need to be absolutely sure that your posture is correct at all times or you could cause yourself an injury. I have some suggestions for you that may add a few new ideas to your workout:
For legs:

Hope these give you some new ideas and good luck.
I got already dead tired reading what you do every week.
When you do have time during the day though i’d suggest to do the breaststroke(swimming)it firms the arms and chest.
Running and biking are great to develop leg and thigh muscles.
Other then that you are doing great:
