Question by JonnyBoy: How much is one scoop of Whey protein?
I had to drop out of wrestling due to a job, and being scheduled right after school. It has now been about 2 months since I’ve worked out and next trimester (in one week) I will be in “weight lifting” as a class elective. I’ve been procrastinating and now need to regain the muscle I lost.
I bought “Body Fortress/Whey protein” powder (chocolate flavored, yum yum), but I noticed that it doesn’t give a serving size in a reasonable measurable size. Of course, it says “33grams” (which I think is one scoop) but who really wants to pull out a sensitive scale? And I’m not quite sure if all spoons are the same size. So, how many tablespoons or cups of powder is “one serving size”?
I will also be mixing the powder (two scoops most likely) with 1% milk after a workout, And I usually consume one (sometimes two) peanut butter and jelly sandwiches per day (with lots of peanut butter), along with normal foods. So, is there a chance that I could possibly have too much protein? I am 16 and weigh 105lbs (yeah, wow).
And with getting all this protein/whatever else, would I be able to workout every night, effectively gaining muscle? Or should I stick to every other night?
And sorry for the long question, I have a habit of adding all the details.
(But hey, it gives Yahoo answers more time to fill up with more questions.)
From what i saw, it didn’t come with a scoop. But I guess I can go wash my hands and dig around through the stuff, haha. But thanks for the advice.
And for the missed info… I am 16, weigh 105lbs, and I am 5′4″
