Question by Anonymous: What can I use as a substitute for exercise bands for my ballet exercises?
I want to do some ballet exercises to get en pointe faster. Someone recommended to me some exercises I can do with bands, but I don’t have any exercise bands and I want to start as soon as possible! What can I use instead of an exercise band?

Question by [Insert Semi-Clever Name]: I need some advice…can you help?
Hi, i’m in college a freshman and i’m overweight. Not disgustingly overweight but definitely overweight. I’m 5′7 and 166 pounds.

I want to go to my campuses rec center to work out because the facilities are awesome! Only thing is that when I went to work out, I only noticed really skinny and buff guys there. I was embarrassed and just walked out. The girls weren’t even working out, they just had sports bras on “weight lifting” and such.

My campus gym is free after fees which are paid for, but should I just spend more money on another gym outside of school like LA Fitness or Curves?
jeremy…why would i kill myself? I’m trying to get healthy. and who said that i was white? what does my race even have to do with this?

Best answer:

Answer by ap
Just use it, don’t use that as an excuse not to work out, if you want to get fit. If the gym is open to everyone, than don’t worry about it. Maybe try to find a less populated area or go during a slow part of the day.

How much is one scoop of Whey protein?

Question by JonnyBoy: How much is one scoop of Whey protein?
I had to drop out of wrestling due to a job, and being scheduled right after school. It has now been about 2 months since I’ve worked out and next trimester (in one week) I will be in “weight lifting” as a class elective. I’ve been procrastinating and now need to regain the muscle I lost.

I bought “Body Fortress/Whey protein” powder (chocolate flavored, yum yum), but I noticed that it doesn’t give a serving size in a reasonable measurable size. Of course, it says “33grams” (which I think is one scoop) but who really wants to pull out a sensitive scale? And I’m not quite sure if all spoons are the same size. So, how many tablespoons or cups of powder is “one serving size”?

I will also be mixing the powder (two scoops most likely) with 1% milk after a workout, And I usually consume one (sometimes two) peanut butter and jelly sandwiches per day (with lots of peanut butter), along with normal foods. So, is there a chance that I could possibly have too much protein? I am 16 and weigh 105lbs (yeah, wow).

And with getting all this protein/whatever else, would I be able to workout every night, effectively gaining muscle? Or should I stick to every other night?

And sorry for the long question, I have a habit of adding all the details.
(But hey, it gives Yahoo answers more time to fill up with more questions.)
From what i saw, it didn’t come with a scoop. But I guess I can go wash my hands and dig around through the stuff, haha. But thanks for the advice.

And for the missed info… I am 16, weigh 105lbs, and I am 5′4″

How do I say a verb in the form of -ing?

Like I have to list activities in my schedule and I want to say that from 9:00-10:00, there’s rollerskating. I know that the infinitive is patinar, but that means “to rollerskate”, doesn’t it? How do I say “rollerskating”

And if I want to say “weight lifting”, how do I say it? I know levantar pesas means “to lift weights”.
Yeah, I forgot to mention that this is for Spanish class

Q&A: men’s code of conduct part 2?

Question by Sk8te: men’s code of conduct part 2?
21. A man in the company of a hot, suggestively dressed woman
must remain sober enough to fight.
22. If a buddy is outnumbered, out manned, or too drunk to
fight, you must jump into the fight. (Exception: If within the
last 24 hours his actions have caused you to think, “What this
guy needs is a good ass-whoopin’,” then you may sit back and
enjoy).
23. Phrases that may NOT be uttered to another man while weight
lifting: “Yeah, baby, push it!”, “C’mon, give me one more! Harder!”
“Another set and we can hit the showers.” “Nice ass! Are you a
Sagittarius?
24. Never hesitate to reach for the last beer or the last
slice of pizza, but not both. That’s just plain mean.
25. If you compliment a guy on his six-pack, you’d better be
referring to his beer choice.
27. Never talk to a man in the bathroom unless you’re on
equal footing: either both urinating or both waiting in line.
In all other situations, a nod is all the conversation you need.

Are children Vitamins only for children. I am 15 and is it healthy for me to be drinking children’s vitamins or should I stop drinking it because it may stunt my growth or secrete some sort of hormone. Please only answer if you absolutely know and are informed. Because sometimes information on what you believe common sense is, does not quite cut it. “Oh and I also weight lift”

Question by Giwrgos Ntavatzakis: How to exercise abdominal muscles to point so that your abds show?
How to exercise abdominal muscles to point so that your abds show?
Approximately how many times a week would an average reasonably thin person need to exercise their abds. How many reps etc..?

Best answer:

Answer by ilykelemonparties
Ab muscles won’t show unless your body fat is very low. 10% or less is what most would need. Do all the crunches and ab workouts you want but they won’t show if your body fat percentage isn’t at least 10%. 7-8% is when they will really start to show. That means extremely strict dieting, and staying that low isn’t easy but achievable with proper diet and training.
